RESOLUTION NO. 82- 105
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING EXCLUSIVE PARKING
ZONES FOR SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES
AND SANTA ANA FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Police Department has iden-
tified a need for certain specified zones in critical areas
to be reserved for the exclusive parking of police or fire
vehicles while police department and fire department per-
sonnel are on foot patrol; and
WHEREAS, the high visability aspect of a parked
police vehicle should act as a deterrent to traffic viola-
tions and be beneficial in reducing high accident rates
experienced at various locations throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, the 'Department of Transportation has
reviewed the request and finds no objection to the proposed
exclusive parking zones.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana resolves that the Director of Public Works or his
designee is authorized to establish special zones for the
exclusive parking of Santa Ana Police Department and Santa
Ana Fire Department vehicles in accordance with Section 36-
132 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code.
ADOPTED this 2nd day of Au§ust , 1982.
