A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA TO NAME THE STREETS LOCATED WITHIN
THE ARMSTRONG RANCH RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
KDO 12/31/02
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby finds, determines
and declares as follows:
The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana held a duly noticed
public hearing on September 23, 2002, on Street Naming No. 2002-01 and
voted by a vote of 6:0 (Richardson absent) that the City Council approve
Street Naming No. 2002-01.
Street Naming No. 2002-01 came before the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha for a public hearing on October 7, 2002. At that hearing the
City Council of the City of Santa Ana approved Armstrong Ranch Road,
but continued the approval of the remainder of the street names until
January 6, 2003.
An ad hoc committee made up of several members of the Planning
Commission met to establish names that are synonymous with the
Armstrong Ranch site and that integrate the historic characteristics and
natural features of the site into the residential project.
The Planning Commission, the Planning Commission ad hoc committee,
and City Council of the City of Santa Aha took into consideration the policy
guidelines contained in Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 33-6.
This project is located on a portion of the Armstrong Ranch. The
street names were selected to portray the historic characteristics of
the open ranch space.
The street names selected are Sheffield Road, Silver Spur,
Blackhawk Drive, Red Fox Road, Deerefield Road, Saddleback
Court and Meadowbrook Drive. One street is to be named Crawford
Glen in honor of Lynn "Tubby" Crawford, a former principal of Santa
Ana High School and Superintendent of Schools.
The City Council of the City of Santa Ana certified Environmental Impact
Report No. 00-01 and approved the mitigation monitoring program and

statement of overriding considerations for Armstrong Ranch by resolution
at a hearing held this same day.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, approves Street
Naming No. 2002-01 as identified in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein.
ADOPTED this 6th day of January, 2003.
