RESOLUTION NO. 83- 15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT NO. 82-17 TO ALLOW AN ARCADE
WITHIN A RESTAURANT ON PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 2130 SOUTH BRISTOL STREET
WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on
January 17, 1983 on Conditional Use Permit Application No.
82-17, to allow an arcade within a restaurant on property
located at 2130 South Bristol Street in the C2 District, and
more specifically located on the map attached hereto as
Exhibit A and incorporated herein, said application having
been brought before this Council by Appeal No. 477,
following its denial by the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, prior to taking action on the said
application, this Council reviewed and approved the negative
declaration (I.S. No. 82-133) prepared for the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Based upon the evidence submitted at the abovesaid
hearing, this Council finds and determines as follows:
(a) The proposed business will offer the
neighborhood and the community a desirable service by
providing a popular recreational use.
(b) The proposed use is located within an
enclosed building and will have no adverse impacts on the
nearby areas. It will not create any risk to people in the
vicinity.
(c) The proposed use will comply with the
regulations and conditions specified in Chapter 41 of the
Municipal Code.
(d) The allowance of the proposed use will not
adversely affect the general plan designation of General
Commercial.
2. Conditional Use Permit No. 82-17 is hereby
approved, subject to the following limitations, requirements
and conditions:

(a) The scope of this permit is limited to the
allowance of a game arcade in a restaurant building.
(b) Any development on the subject site shall be
in accordance with the site plan approved by the city,
except for minor modifications approved by the Chief of
Planning.
(c) The floor plan of the subject building as
submitted to and approved by the City shall not be modified,
and neither the restaurant dining area nor the arcade area
shall be expanded, without the approval of the Chief of
Planning.
(d) The number of games shall not exceed 27
without the approval of the Chief of Planning.
(e) The hours of operation of the dining area and
the arcade area shall not be extended earlier or later than
9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
(f) There shall be no entrance to the arcade area
except through the dining area.
(g) Portable fire extinguishers shall be provided
in accordance with N.F.P.A. standard #10.
(h) The grantee shall obtain an updated business
license.
(i) The games in the arcade area shall be
operated by means of tokens purchased in the dining area,
rather than directly by coins.
(j) This conditional use permit shall be reviewed
by the Planning Commission one year after this resolution

and, again, two years after this resolution, to determine
whether the grantee has complied with the conditions set
forth in this section.
