RESOLUTION NO. 83- 71
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA DENYING CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT APPLICATION NO. 82-22 AND VARIANCE
APPLICATION NO. 83-2 TO ALLOW AN OFF -
PREMISE ADVERTISING SIGN ON PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 100 S. HARBOR BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on
June 20, 1983 on Conditional Use Permit Application No. 82-
22, to allow an off -premise advertising sign in the C2
District and on Variance Application No. 83-2, to allow such
sign to be installed at variance with zoning regulations
restricting the height of such signs, on property located at
100 S. Harbor Boulevard as shown on the map attached hereto
as Exhibit A, incorporated herein, which applications were
brought before this Council by Appeals No. 480 and 482,
following their denial by the Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Based on the evidence submitted at the abovesaid
hearing, this Council finds and determines as follows:
(a) The proposed sign is inconsistent with
developments and improvements in the vicinity and will
create a view deleterious to the area.
(b) There are no special circumstances pertaining
to the subject property which cause any unreasonable
hardship on the property owner in being required to comply
with the zoning regulations regarding the size of off -
premise advertising signs.
2. Conditional Use Permit Application No. 82-22 and
Variance Application No. 83-2 are hereby denied.
