A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, PROCLhDn G
r'` THE WEEK OF JULY 5-8, 1983 AS "HIRE A YOUTH
WEEKC' .
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana acknowledges it's conmtitment
to the Nations youth; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to promote employ-
ment for it's youth this sir; and
WHEREAS, the Stormier Youth Program Alliance is sponsoring
the Federal Targeted Jobs Tax Credit Programs in Orange County to promote
surmer jobs in the private sector for disadvantaged youth aged 16 and 17:
and
WHEREAS, the State Employment Development Department and the
schools are actively supporting their efforts as a part of an overall
national and local concern for unemployment among youth; and
WHEREAS, the CETA Summer Youth Employment Program administered
by the City is providing work experience for economically disadvantaged
youth ages 14 through 21; and
WHEREAS, providing summer employment to youths is a wise
investment in the future and encourages young people to be responsible
citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANCA ANA PROCLAIMS the week of July 5-8 as "HIRE A YOUTH WEEK".
ADOPTED, this 5th day of July , 1983.
