A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE TO DEVELOP
A HIGH SPEED RAIL STATION STOP IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE SANTA ANA -ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION
CENTER _
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is constructing a Regional
Transportation Center, the purpose of which is to facilitate transfer
between all modes of transportation, and
WHEREAS, Santa Ana is becoming the urban center of Orange
County and all major points of interest are conveniently accessible
from the Santa Ana -Orange County Transportation Center, and
WHEREAS, the American High Speed Rail Corporation is
planning to develop high speed rail service between Los Angeles
and San Diego through Santa Ana, and
WHEREAS, access to high speed rail service would promote
Santa Ana as a place to live, work, and visit, encouraging the economic
growth and vitality of downtown Santa Ana.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
RESOLVES that Santa Ana desires the development of a high speed rail
station stop in conjunction with the Santa Ana -Orange County Trans-
portation Center to serve central Orange County, including residents
and businesses in Santa Ana and surrounding areas.
ADOPTED this 18th day of July , 1983.
