RESOLUTION NO. 83-114
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THAT THE COUNTY COUNSEL'S
OFFICE OF ORANGE COUNTY ASSUME THE CITY'S DEFENSE
IN THE CASE OF SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION
NATING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AS THE CITY'S AGENT
FOR SERVICE OF PROCESS FOR ALL SUITS AND ACTIONS
BROUGHT AGAINST THE CITY OF SANTA ANA UNDER
ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 5 OF PART 9 of DIVISION 1
OF THE CALIFORNIA REVENUE AND TAXATION CODE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANA:
1. That the County of Orange, acting by and through
Office of the County Counsel, assume the defense of the City
Santa Ana, named as a defendant in the case of Southern
ific Transportation Companv, et al. v. Board of Equalization

2. That the County of Orange, pursuant to Section
149 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California,
be hereby designated as the City of Santa Ana's agent for service
If process for all suits and actions brought against the City of
Santa Ana pursuant to Article 2 (Section 5140) of Chapter 5 of
Part 9 of Division 1 of the California Revenue and Taxation Code;
Such designation to include the above-described suit wherein the
Pity of Santa Ana is named as a defendant.
