A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA SUPPORTING A FREEWAY
LANDSCAPING PROGRAM FOR ORANGE COUNTY THROUGH
THE STATE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana supports the enhancement of its neighborhoods, highways,
and surrounding areas in physical appearance and quality
image; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana contains numerous
freeway systems transversing its boundaries carrying
motoring visitors, commuters, and residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana is supportive of construction of landscaping projects
along the freeways of Orange County to provide aesthetic
appeal as well as erosion control.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA supports a program
providing a minimal funding level for freeway landscaping
in Orange County through the State Transportation Improvement
Program (STIP) and encourages support of such a funding
program by the Orange County Transportation Commission.
