RESOLUTION NO. 83- 132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
recognizes that it is in the interest of the national economy
to encourage energy conservation and thereby reduce the nation's
dependence on foreign sources of energy supplies; and
WHEREAS, funds have been established by the United
States Congress pursuant to the Energy Security Act, 12 U.S.C.
3601 et seq., and are available from the Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD), through the California Energy
Commission, for grants and/or loans to local government for
energy conservation activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the City Council authorizes the
submittal of an application to the California Energy Commission
for grants/loans to implement the City of Santa Ana Energy Con-
servation Bank Program by the City Manager of the City of Santa
Ana, who is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the
name of the City of Santa Ana, all necessary applications, con-
tracts, agreements, and amendments hereto to implement and carry
out the purposes specified in this resolution.
