RESOLUTION NO. 83- 149
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA ENDORSING THE CITIZENS ALERT
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Citizens Alert Program serves as an alert
mechanism to help the handicapped and elderly living alone; and
WHEREAS, Citizens Alert is a local community service
project endorsed by the President of the United State, the
United States Postal Service, and the National Association of
Letter Carriers; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Alert Program requires the
participation of local postal authorities, the local community
sponsoring agencies, and the Senior Citizens Center; and
WHEREAS, each citizen is a genuine concern of letter
carriers and special consideration is provided for those advanced
in age; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana and the Senior Citizens
Center are devoted to assisting the senior citizens of Santa Ana
and currently participate in the Citizen Alert Program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana does hereby endorse the Citizens Alert Program
and support the continued participation of this program by the Santa
Ana Senior Citizens Center and all its staff.
