HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-162EJC:ar 12/15/83 RESOLUTION NO. 83-162 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS INCONSISTENT THEREWITH BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA; 1. That the salary for the office of the City Attorney of the City of Santa Ana is hereby fixed and established at the salary rate in the City of Santa Ana Salary Schedule Matrix on the effective date as herein set forth: Salary Rate 682 Step "C" 692 Step "C" Effective Date 11/1/83 9/1/84 2. That said salary shall be paid in the same manner and at the same time as other monthly salaries in the city are paid. 3. In addition to the salary hereinabove fixed and established for said office, said officer shall receive, as additional compensation, the following employee benefits: (a) Retirement. The terms of the existing con- tract between the city and the California Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) governing the retirement benefits for affected employees, as amended, are incorporated herein by reference, and the city shall continue to make contribu- tions to PERS in accordance with said contract as amended for said officer at the same rate the city provides for the class designated as Executive Management ("EM"). Effective November 1, 1983, the city shall increase its payment to PERS by 2/7ths for said officer. (b) Deferred Compensation. Said officer shall receive the same deferred compensation, upon the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as Execu- tive Management. (c) Health & Dental Insurance. Said officer shall receive the same health and dental insurance benefits, upon the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as Executive Management. RESOLUTION NO. 83-162 PAGE TWO (d) Disability Insurance. The city shall pay the full premium for a long-term disability insurance plan for said officer. (e) Life Insurance. The city shall provide the same life insurance coverage for said officer, upon the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as unrepresented Executive Management. (f) Holidays. Said officer shall receive the same holidays, upon the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as Executive Management. (g) Vacation & Option. Said officer shall re- ceive the same vacation benefits and vacation pay option, upon the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as Executive Management. (h) Carry -Over Benefits. In addition to the benefits specified in subparagraphs (a) through (g) here- inabove, said officer shall continue to receive any and all employee benefits accorded unrepresented executive manage- ment employees of the city who are miscellaneous members of PERS, except said officer shall not be entitled to partici- pate in the management performance bonus plan. 4. Resolution No. 82-40 of this Council, adopted on March 15, 1982, and any other resolution of this Council inconsistent herewith, are hereby repealed. ADOPTED this 19th day of December , 1983.
