A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO PROVIDE FOR A MORE
EQUITABLE INTERNAL SALARY RELATIONSHIP AMONG EXECUTIVE
MANAGEMENT CLASSES AND TO ADJUST THE SALARY OF TWO MIDDLE -
MANAGEMENT CLASSES.
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted
Resolution No. 82,110, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan
for all officers and employees of the City of Santa Ana, including provisions
for a special performance-based compensation plan for unrepresented management
personnel; and
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of
Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position
classification and pay plan subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations and
the approval of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said class-
ification and pay plan; and
WHEREAS, it is desired to adjust the recently adopted two-year com-
pensation plan for unrepresented management personnel to provide for a more
equitable internal salary relationship among Executive Management classes by
adjusting the salary level of certain Executive Management classes, to provide
equity adjustments for two middle -management classes; and to designate an
existing represented class as Unrepresented Middle -Management (MM).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana that Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110 is hereby amended by:
1. Assigning the following class titles to new salary rate ranges
on the effective dates as next herein set out:

2. Designating the existing class of Project Area Manager as
Unrepresented Middle -Management by adding the parenthetical identifier (MM)
next to following the class title and reassigning said class from the basic
five step salary rate range schedule for non -management classes to the special
three step salary rate range schedule for unrepresented management classes
(with no increase in salary level) resulting in the following two-year
compensation adjustment schedule:

3. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after
