HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-007***SEC. 2 AMENDED BY RES. 86-72 dated 7/21/86'*** EJC:ar 12/27/83 RESOLUTION ~NO. 84-7 A R~SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA F~XING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION ~OR THE OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 6, 1984, AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS INCONSISTENT HEREWITH BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: 1. That the salary for the office of the City Manager of the City of Santa Aha is hereby fixed and established at Six Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-six Dollars and SixtY-seven Cents ($6,666.67) per month which shall be paid in the same manner and at the same times as other monthly salaries in the city are paid, and shall take effect and be paid from and after February 6, 1984. 2. That from and after September 1, 1984, the salary for the office of the City Manager of the City of Santa Ana shall be fixed and established at Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) per month, which shall be paid in the same manner and at the same times as Other monthly salaries in the City are paid. 3. That the city shall pay to the Public Em- ployees' Retirement System on behalf of said officer an amount equal to seven percent (7%) times the compensation upon which such retirement contributions are calculated. Such payments are not an increase in base salary. 4. In addition to the salary hereinabove fixed and established for said office, said officer shall receive, as additional compensation, the following employee benefits: (a) Deferred Compensation Said of~ficer shall receive the same deferred compensation, upon the same terms and conditions as provided the class designated as Executive Management. RESOLUTION NO. 84-7 PAGE TWO (b) Health Insurance & Dental Insurance Said officer shall receive the same health and dental insgrance benefits, Upon the same terms and conditions; as provided the class designated as Executive Management. (c) Disability Insurance The city shall pay the full premium for a long-term disability insurance plan for said officer. (d) Automobile The city shall provide, at said officer's~ option, the amount of automobile allowance authorized from time to time by the City Council, or in lieu thereof an automobile for said officer's exclusive use. (e) Life 'Insurance The city shall provide the same life insurance coverage for said officer, up6n the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as Executive Management. (f) Holidays .~ Said officer shall receive the same holidays, upon'the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as Executive ManagementJ (g) Vacation Said officer shall receive the same vacation benefits and vacation pay option, upon the same terms and conditons, as provided the class designated as Executive Management. RESOLUTION NO. 84-7 PAGE THREE (h) Moving Expense The city shall pay for all reasonable and necessary moving expenses incurred by said officer in relocating from the State of Michigan to the City of Santa Ana. (i) Housing Expense Said officer shall receive, as additional compensation, the following: i. The sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00), tax free, which shall be used in a suitable manner only for housing ex- penses incurred by said officer within the City of Santa Ana. ii. The city Shall assist said officer as reasonably required, so that said officer may obtain one hundred percent (100%) financing for a home of his choice to a value of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00); any value in excess of said Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) shall be the sole responsibility of said officer. (j) Sick Leave Benefit Said o~fficer shall receive the same sick leave benefit, upon the same terms and conditions, as provided the class designated as Executive Management, provided, however, said officer shall receive immediate credit for one hundred five (105) days sick leave. (k) Severance Benefit The prov:isions of Santa Ana Charter Section 500, as the same now reads, are incorporated iherein and made a part hereof by reference. In the event said officer is termin- ated from employment by action of the City Council, said officer shall receive the following severance benefit: RESOLUTION NO. 84-7 PAGE FOUR i. Four 4) months of full salary, payable on ~he last day of employment. ii. C6ntinuing medical insurance benefits fo~ a period of six (6) months from and after the last day of employment. (1) Carry Over Benefits In addition to the benefits specified in subparagraphs (a) through (k) herein- above, said officer shall receive any and all benefit~ accorded unrepresented execu- tive management employees of the city who are miscellaneous members of the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS), except said office~ shall not be entitled to participate in the management performance bonus plan. 5.
