HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-026REL:adg 2/24/84 RESOLUTION NO. 84-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA CLOSING SPURGEON STREET BETWEEN THIRD AND FOURTH STREETS TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC WHEREAS, Section 21101(a) of the California Vehicle Code grants authority to local agencies to close a street to vehicular traffic when the legislative body determines that the street is no longer needed for vehicular traffic; and WHEREAS, the City proposes to construct an open-air market on Spurgeon Street between Third and Fourth Streets; and WHEREAS, the Directors of Planning and Development Services and Transportation Services have determined that no abutting property owners or occupants take or need vehicular access directly from said portion of Spurgeon Street, and that said portion of Spurgeon Street is not necessary for the safe and convenient flow of vehicular traffic in the area; NOW, THEREFOREv BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Council finds and determines that Spurgeon Street between Third and Fourth Streets is no longer needed for vehicular traffic. 2. From and after March 31, 1984, Spurgeon Street between Third and Fourth Streets shall be closed to vehicular traffic, other than emergency and public utility vehicles.
