HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-126REL:adg 10/11/84 RESOLUTION NO. 84-126 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA CANCELLING A PERMIT TO MAINTAIN RAILWAY TRACKS IN SANTIAGO STREET WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Santa Ana, by its Resolution No.3, dated February 23, 1887, permitted the San Bernardino and San Diego Railway Company to lay its railway track and run its cars on certain streets, including Santiago Street (formerly C Street) between Washington Avenue and Sixth Street and across Sixth Street to the southerly boundary thereof; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has succeeded to the rights of the grantor of said permit and the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company has succeeded to the rights of the grantee of said permit; and WHEREAS, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, by letter dated September 28, 1984, has notified the City of Santa Ana of its intention to cease use of the said railway track in Santiago Street and across Sixth Street and has re- quested the City of Santa Ana to cancel the permit for such use; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the permit granted by the aforesaid Resolution No. 3, to the extent it applies to railway tracks in Santiago Street and their southeasterly prolongation across Sixth Street, is hereby cancelled and revoked.
