A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION
TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION TO FUND CONSTRUCTION OF
GRADE SEPARATION AT SEVENTEENTH STREET AND THE SANTA FE RAILROAD
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has
identified improvements within the vicinity of the Santa Ana Regional
Transportation Center as a top transportation priority, and
WHEREAS, and the California Department of Transportation
Intercity Commuter rail report recommends a grade separation on
Seventeenth Street; and
WHEREAS, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company
and the City of Santa Aha have indicated a strong desire to have grade
separations constructed as part of the Santa Aha Regional Transporta-
tion Center project; and
WHEREAS, the California Public utilities Commission annually
adopts a Grade Crossing Improvement Priority List for projects such as
this; and
list,
WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission provides
funds to construct crossing improvements from this priority
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
RESOLVES that the City Manager is authorized and directed to submit
grant application to the California Public Utilities Commission for
grant funding of grade separation project at Seventeenth Street and
the Santa Fe Railroad.
