A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION
WITH THE CALIFO~IA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORATION
AND CALIFOI%NIA TRANSPORTATION CO~4ISSION FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1985/86 TRANSPORTATION PLAA%IING AND
DEVELOPMENT (TP&D) ACCOUNT CAPITAL IMPROV~45~Ff
(TCI) FUN~
WHEREAS, the City desires to construct a grade separation
at Fourth Street and the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe and Southern
Pacific Pailroad; and
WHEREAS, the grade separation will greatly improve
transportation service associated with the Santa Ana Regional
Transportation Center; and
WHEREAS, the California Transportation Oatu,Lission is
authorized to make grants for transportation projects; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation is
authorized to receive and review grant applications on behalf of the
Oat~Lission; and
WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose
certain obligations upon the applicant, including a contributed
share of the project cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA HEREBY:
Authorizes the City Manager to apply to the
California Department of Transportation and the
California Transportation C~,m%ission for Fiscal Year
1985/86 Transportation Planning and Develo~anent
(TP&D) Account Transit Capital Improvement (TCI)
funds.

Upon award of a grant, obligate itself to the
required local match of funds to construct a grade
separation at Fourth Street and the Atchison, Topeka
and Santa Fe, and Southern Pacific Railroad.
