ORANGE COUNTY JOB TRAINING PARPNERSHIP AGENCY WITHDRAWAL

WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha entered into a Joint Exercise of Powers
Agreement in May 1983 with the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, La Habra and
the County of Orange to administer the Job TraJ_ning Partnership Act on a County
wide basis; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the cooperative relationship it has enjoyed
with the other members of the consorti%~n in the planning and delivery of employ-
ment and training services; and
WHEREAS, the City now recognizes the lulique e~ployment and training needs
of its own ecor~xaically disadvantaged and unemployed population; and
WHEREAS, the City r~w wishes te combine its business develol~nent activities
with its Job Training Partnership A~t responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of a Private Industz7 Council ~x~mposed solely
of Santa Ana business persons would be able to more accurately identify local
labor force needs, demand occupations and job training programs to address those
needs; and
WHEREAS, the City has recently sukmitted an application to the Governor
of the State of California for single Service Delivery Area designation under
the Job Training Partnership Act;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Santa Ana hereby gives
this notice of withdrawal frcm the Orange County Job Training Partnership Agency
effective June 30, 1986, and that such withdrawal is contingent upon it being
designated a single Service Delivery Area.
