A RESOLUTI0iq OF THE CITY ~IL OF T~E
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE
COUNTY UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST
STREETS AND ROAES PRO6~AM.
Wt~a~AS, the City of Santa Aha has an extensive arterial
street system of regional significance to the County of Orange in providing
neighboring ccmnunities with accessibility to the Federal, State, and Coulaty
offices and to the c~.erical/retail centers located within the City boundaries;
Wit~Fa~AS, many sec3nents of the City's arterial syste~ are
in need of rehabilitation both for safety and to enhance their role in the total
transportation system; and
Wm~RE~S, the Covernor has signed legislation creatiuG
the OrenGe County Unified Transportation Trust Fund to be administered by the
Orange Gounty Transportation C~.,ission for the purpose of rehabilitating local
streets and roads, arterial highways, stats highways, freeways and transit
guideways; and
S~EREAS, the OranGe County Transportation Cu~.ission has
begun accepting applications for matching (50/50) funds to be allocated through
the Orar~e county Unified Transportation Trust Streets and Roads progr~ for the
purpose of rshabilitatinG arterial streets;
NOW, 'II~i~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TItE CITY COUNCIL OF
T~E CITY OF SANTA ANA;
That the Executive Director of the Public Services
~3ency is authorized to su~mit applications for matching funds allocated through
the OranGe Gounty Unified Transportation Trust Streets and Roads progr~n for the
purpose of repairing and resurfacing the following arterial streets of regional
significance in the City of Santa Aha:

Bristol to Sullivan
Ediuger Avenue
Euclid Street to Newhope Street
(Joint project with City of
Fountain Valley)

BE IT FbFd~.~ RESOLVED, that the total estimated cost of the arterial
h~provements is $6,668,000 with the City's 50 percent matching share
($3,334,000) to be derived f~c.t Transportation Area Fees and Gas Tax revenues;
and,
BE IT FUFd~K RESOLVED, that the City of Santa kna intends to maintain
oonsistency between the Gounty's Master Plan of Arterial Highways
and the City's General Plan Circulation Element; and,

BE IT FURIi4~R RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Aha has, in accordanoe with
the Co~ty's Besoluticn 79-402, initiated a cooperative study process required
to resolve any inconsistencies bet~ccn the Ora~3e County and the City of Santa
Ana Master Plans of Arterial Highways.
