A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD NEW JOB CLASSES TO
CLASSIFY, RECLASSIFY AND COMPENSATE POSITIONS AUTHORIZED
IN THE 1985-86 ANNUAL BUDGET AND TO EFFECT OTHER CHANGES
TO THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN
WHEREAS, On August 2, 1982 the City Council passed and adopted Resolution
NO. 82-]]0 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation
Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, Section ]004 Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa
Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position
classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations and
the approval of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the 1985-86 Annual Budget, City Council
approved the addition of various positions throughout the City organization
including these two positions in the Fire Department, two in Public Services
Agency and one in Utilities Agency, which due to significantly different duties,
responsibilities and qualification requirements, cannot be allocated to existing
classes found in the City's Basic Classification and Compensation Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to add four new class titles together with
assigned salary rate ranges to the City's Basic Classification and Compensation
plan and to reclassify, without a change in salary level, a vacant position in
Intergovernmental Relations Department to one of those new classes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further
amended by:

b. Reclassify the existing vacant position of Administrative Assistant
I in the Intergovernmental Relations Department to the above new class of
Assistant Grants Coordinator.
2. That this resolution shall be operative from and after April 21, 1986.
