RESOLUTION NO. 86-45
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA DENYING CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT APPLICATION NO. 86-9 TO ALLOW AN
APARTMENT BUILDING IN THE P DISTRICT AT
1802-20 NORTH BUSH STREET.
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on May
19, 1986 on Conditional Use Permit No. 86-9 to allow an
apartment building in the P District on property located at
1802-20 North Bush Street, which application was brought
before this Council by Appeal No. 539 following {ts denial by
the Planning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS;
1. Based on the evidence submitted at the abovesaid
hearing, this Council finds and determines as follows:
(a) The proposed apartment building is located in
an area largely occupied by single-family homes along Bush
Street to the east and south, many of which have an historically
valuable character.
(b) The proposed apartment building would generate
increased traffic and traffic-related noise on Bush Street
which will create unsafe and unpleasant conditions, incompatible
with such a single-family home neighborhood.
(c) The proposed apartment building would constitute
a discordant visual intrusion into such a single-family
home neighborhood.
(d) For the foregoing reasons, the proposed
apartment building will not contribute to the general well-
being of the neighborhood. Rather, it will be detrimental to
the safety and general welfare of persons residing in the
vicinity.
