RESOLUTION NO. 86-109
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD
IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 4, 1986
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of the City of Santa
Ana, a general municipal election was held in the City of Santa
Ana on November 4, 1986 to fill the offices of members of the
City Council of said City nominated from Wards 2, 4 and 6 of
said City; and
WHEREAS, in addition, pursuant to Ordinance No. NS-
1864 and Resolution No. 86-78 of the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana, the following ballot measures were submitted to
the voters of the City of said election:

Measure H
Measure J
Measure K
Shall sections 101.1, 400, 401, 401.1,
404 and 405 of the Charter be amended
to provide for the election of the mayor
by the voters of the city at large as
the seventh council member and to provide
for six wards in the city?
Shall sections 400, 401.1 and 404 of the
Charter be amended to provide for election
of 7 council members by ward, and an
office of the mayor be added to be elected
at large, with a vote only in case of a
tie and with a power to require a recon-
sideration of any matter with a 2/3 vote,
elections for all to occur in November,
19887
Shall section 403 of the Charter be
amended to eliminate an obsolete refer-
ence to the expiration of council
member's terms in April of odd-numbered
years?
Shall section 419 of the Charter be
amended to provide that one copy of the
municipal code and the building codes
of the city be retained in the clerk's
office, rather than three copies?

Measure L
Shall sections 600, 601 and 608 of
the Charter be repealed to eliminate
obsolete provisions pertaining to
the establishment of the property
tax rate by the city council?
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY.COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the results of the said election, including the
whole number of votes cast in the City, the names of the persons
voted for, the measures voted upon, for what office each person
was voted for, the number of votes given at each precinct to
each person and for and against each measure, and the number of
votes given in the city to each person and for and against each
measure, are set forth in that certain document attached hereto
as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference as though
fully set forth.
2. That, based upon said results, the following persons
are declared elected to the following respective offices, for
four-year terms commencing on the date of adoption of this
Resolution:
RON MAY, Member of the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana from Ward 2.
MIGUEL PULIDO, Member of the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana from Ward 4.
DAN YOUNG, Member of the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana from Ward 6.
3. That the votes of a majority of all the voters voting
at said election on Measure G were cast in favor of said ballot
measure, and said ballot measure is hereby declared to have been
approved.

4. That the votes of a majority of all the voters voting
at said election on Measure H were cast against said ballot
measure, and said ballot measure is hereby declared to have been
rejected.
5. That the votes of a majority of all the voters voting
at said election on Measure J were cast in favor of said ballot
measure, and said ballot measure is hereby declared to have been
approved.
6. That the votes of a majority of all the voters voting
at said election on Measure K were cast in favor of said ballot
measure, and said ballot measure is hereby declared to have been
approved.
7. That the votes of a majority of all the voters voting
at said election on Measure L were cast in favor of said ballot
measure, and said ballot measure is hereby declared to have been
approved.
