RESOLUTION NO. 8536
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 83
AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 84-19 TO
A NEW SCHEDULE OF SURCHARGES ON PERMITS
FOR CORRECTION OF MAJOR CODE VIOLATION~
PERMITS ISSUED FOR WORK THAT HAS BEEN C£ MENCED

PERMITS ISSUED FOR
OF MAJOR CODE VIOLATIONS
For any ng as to which a notice and order has been
issued pursua section 401 of the Uniform Code for the
Abatement erous Buildings as adopted and amended by
~8-1900 of ,anta Ana Municipal Code or section 1101 of
the Uniform sing Code as adopted and amended~by §-~1156 of
the Santa Ang~Municipal Code, there shall be a surcharg,e in
the ~mount ~f ~th~e' ~i~idred dollars ($300.00) on the p~,~,i~
required t~ comply with such notice and order, except in
those sev~re instances requiring inspection by a community
preservation task force comprised of a minimum of two
Community Preservation Inspectors and one member each from
the Fi~e and Police Departments. In said instances requiring
task/force inspection, said surcharge on the required permit

shall be in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
These surcharges shall be in addition to any and all other
fees and charges established by Resolution 83-91 or any other
resolution of this Council. If more than one permit is
required for such compliance, the appropriate surcharge shall
be imposed on only the first such permit.
2. That Subsection "d" of section 1 of ResolutiOn No. 83-91
is amended to read as fo, llows: ~ i :: ~ r! r
"(d)
VIOLATION INVESTIGATION FEE.
When any work for which a permit'is required has been
commenced without the authorization,of such permit, an
investigation may be required before a permit will be issued
for such work. An investigation fee of thirty-five dollars
($35.00) shall be collected. In addition to the ~
investigation fee and regular permit fee, a penalty in an
amount equal to twice the amount of the permit fee shall be
required."
3. That Resolution No. 84-19 amending Resolution No. 83-91
is hereby repealed.
