HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-130RESOLUTION NO. 85-130 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE PUBLIC SERVICES AGENCY TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDS ALLOCATED THROUGH THE ORANGE COUNTY UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST STREETS AND ROADS PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has an extensive arterial street system of regional significance to the County of Orange in providing neighboring communities with accessibility to the Federal, State and County offices and to the commercial/retail centers located within the City boundaries; and, WHEREAS, many segments of the City's arterial system are in need of rehabilitation both for safety and to enhance their role in the total transportation system; and, WHEREAS, the Governor recently signed legislation creating the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust fund to be administered by the Orange County Transportation Commission for the purpose of rehabilitating local streets and roads, arterial highways, state highways, freeways and transit guideways; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission recently adopted the Streets and Roads component of the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust fund for the purpose of rehabilitating arterial streets; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission has begun to accept applications for matching (50/50) funds on a competitive project merit basis for the three (3) year project period of the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust Streets and Roads program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Executive Director of the Public Services Agency is authorized to submit applications for matching funds allocated through the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust Streets and Roads program for the purpose of repairing and resurfacing certain arterial streets of regional significance in the City of Sa'nra Aha; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total estimated cost of the arterial improvements identified to date is $5,764,400, with the City's 50 percent share of this amount derived from Transportation Area Fees and Gas Tax revenues for rehabilitation of the following arterial segments: Resolution No. 85-130 Page Two Project Limits 1.
