RESOLUTION NO. 87-28
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT NO. 86-18 TO ALLOW A SALVAGE
YARD AT 1016 NORTH SANTIAGO STREET IN
THE M2 DISTRICT
WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on March 16,
1987 on Conditional Use Permit Application No. 86-18 to allow a
salvage yard at 1016 North Santiago Street in the M2 district,
said application having been brought before this Council by
Appeal No. 545 following its approval by the Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, prior to taking action on said ~application,
this Council reviewed and approved the negative declaration
(IS 86-135) prepared for the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Based on the evidence submitted at the abovesaid
hearing, this Council finds and determines as follows:
(a) That the proposed use will provide a
service or facility which will contribute to the
general well being of the neighborhood or the
community since it would provide an additional
facility to recycle metal waste, ultimately
preserving non-renewable natural resources.
(b) That the proposed use will not, under
the circumstances of the particular case, be
detrimental to the health, safety, or general
welfare of persons residing or working in the
vicinity since the site is well screened from
view and no surplus materials are stored outside
the perimeter of the site.
(c) That the proposed use will not adversely
affect the present economic stability or future
economic development of property in the surrounding
area since it is consistent with current land uses
in the scope of service provided in the vicinity.

(d) That the proposed use will comply with
the regulations and conditions specified in this
chapter for such use since there are conditions
of approval further regulating the business.
(e) That the proposed use will not adversely
affect the General Plan of the City or any specific
plan applicable to the area of the proposed use
since it is consistent with the General Plan desig-
nation of Industrial.
2. Conditional Use Permit No. 86-18 is hereby approved,
Subject to the limitations, requirements and conditions set
forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.

The approval of Conditional Use Permit No. 86-18
shall be contingent upon City Council's approval of
General Plan Amendment ..No. 86-8 :,designating this
~roposed project area from Low Medium Residential
LMR) to the Industrial (I) designation. If City
Council does not approve the General Plan
redesignation, this application is then voided.
UTILITIES AGENCY
1. Pay sewer connection fees.
2. Pay O.C.S.D. No. 1 fees.
3. Pay the cost of water service and fire protection
facilities installation.

Storage, dispensing or use of any flammable or
combustible liquids, flammable gases, and hazardous
chemicals shall comply with the Uniform Fire Code
regulations.
