RESOLUTION NO. 87-42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA SUMMARILY
VACATING EXCESS RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED
AT 913 EAST SIXTH STREET AND 908
BROWN STREET.
WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that a
certain portion of Sixth Street and a certain portion of
Brown Street, more particularly described in Exhibit A,
attached hereto and incorporated herein, are excess right-of-
way street portions which are not required for street purposes
for the following reasons:
(a) Said street portions were acquired for right-
of-way purposes as corner turn areas connecting Sixth Street
and Brown Street with an alley which ran between the two streets.
(b) Said alley has been vacated by the City, so
that the said corner turn areas no longer serve any purpose.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of S 2381 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
this Council does find and determine that the abovesaid street
portions are not useful as a nonmotorized transportation facility,
as defined in ~ 156 of said Code; and
WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that
there are no in-place public utility facilities in the
abovesaid street portions; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 4 of Part 33
of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California, and, in particular, § 8334 theref, those
portions of "Sixth Street" and "Brown Street" in the City of
Santa Ana specified in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated
herein, are, under the facts hereinabove recited, hereby
vacated and, from the date this resolution is recorded in the
office of the Recorder of Orange County, shall no longer
constitute a street or any portion thereof.
2. The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to
cause a certified copy hereof, attested by her under seal, to

County.

That certain easement for public street purposes granted to
the City of Santa Ana by deed recorded July 19, 1978 in Book
12764, page 424 of Official Records of Orange County,
California;
That certain easement for public alley purposes granted to
the City of Santa Ana by Parcel 2 of a deed recorded March
18, 1986 as Document No. 86-107145 of Official Records of
said Orange County.
