RESOLUTION NO. 87-47
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE PUBLIC WORKS
AGENCY TO SUBMIT AN AMENDMENT TO THE
CITY'S APPLICATION FOR FUNDS UNDER THE
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES PROGRAM
OF THE TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Facil-
ities Program of the California Transportation Development Act, the
City of Santa Ana has received funds from the State of California
to conduct a pedestrian study within the civic center area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that
said funds would be more appropriately expended for the
improvement of deficient sidewalks outside of Community Develop-
ment Block Grant Areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Executive Director of the Public
Works Agency is hereby authorized to prepare an amendment to the
City of Santa Ana's application for funds pursuant to the
Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Program of the California
Transportation Development Act, so as to allow the use of said
funds for sidewalk improvements outside of Community Development
Block Grant Areas, and to submit said application, on behalf of
the City of Santa Ana, to the Orange County Transportation Com-
mission.
