A RESOI/3TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AM~qDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-59 TO ADD, DELETE AND CHANGE
CEI~rAIN CLASS TITLES CONTAINED IN 7tie BASIC CLASSIFICATION
AND Cfl~PENSATION PLAN FOR UNREPRESENTED EXECUTIVE AND MIDDLE
WHEREAS, on July 7, 1986, the City Cour~il passed and adopted
Resolution No. 86-59, re-establishin~ the Basic Classification and
Ccmpensation Plan for classes of employment designated as unrepresented
executive and middle-management; and
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City
of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a
position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and
regulations and the approval of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the reorganization of certain operations
in the Cc~munity Development Department it is now desired to reclassify a
currently vacant position in a now inappropriate classification and pay
level to a new job class at a lower salary level; and
WHEREAS, it is also desired to change the title only of an
existin~ class in the deputy city attorney series of classes in order to
provide a title more appropriate and descriptive of the level of
responsibility and authority assigned to the class.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA:
1. ~hat Section 3B of Resolution No. 86-59 pertaining to
Middle-Management classes of employment, is hereby a~ended by:
a. Deleting the class title of Operations and Finance
Manager (~) at Salary Range M-26.
b. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the class
title of A~MINISTRATIVE SERVICES MANAGER (~) at Salary Range M-22 (with
a minimum to maximum hiring rate range of $3722-$4424).
c. Chan~iag the class title of Deputy City Attorney III
(~) to Senior Deputy City Attorney (~q) at no chan~e in currently
assigned salary level.

2. That this resolution shall be operative fram and after
October 19, 1987.
