RESOLUTION NO. 88-13
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.
87-38 OF SAID CITY COUNCIL TO PROVIDE FOR
THE WAIVER OF BUILDING CODE PERMIT FEES
FOR WORK PERFORMED FOR THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA OR THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana,
by its Resolution No. 87-38, adopted May 18, 1987, established
a schedule of fees and charges for permits, plan checks,
inspections and investigations pursuant to Chapter 8, "Buildings
and Structures" of the Santa Ana Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, work performed by or under contract with
the City of Santa Ana is exempted from the payment of such fees
and charges; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to extend such exemption
to the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that subsection (a) of Section 1 of
Resolution No. 87-38 of said City Council is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"l.(a) GENERAL PROVISIONS
Unless otherwise provided, payment of fees
and charges as established herein shall be made to the
Building Official or his authorized representative at the
time of initial application or request for the permit or
service for which a fee or charge is imposed. No permit
shall be issued to any person, firm, or corporation unless
all fees therefor have been paid in full.
Exception: Waiver of Fee
No permit or plan check fees required by this
resolution will be charged for public improvement projects
performed by construction contractors and subcontractors
pursuant to contract with the City of Santa Ana or the
Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana
nor for any work performed by employees of the City in the
course of their employment. However, this fee waiver
does not exempt any party from obtaining a permit for
such work nor exempt such party from conforming to the

procedures established by the City nor from compliance
with all applicable City and State ordinances regulating
such work."
