A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA SUMMARILY VACATING EX-
CESS RIGHT OF WAY LOCATED ON MCFADDEN
AVENUE
WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that a certain
portion of McFadden Avenue, formerly Sugar Avenue, more partic-
ularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated
herein, is excess right-of-way street portion which is not
required for street purposes for the following reason:
(a) Said street portion was a portion of 20 foot wide
reservation for road purposes along each side of quarter
section lines conveyed to Orange County in 1918 from the
Stearns Ranchos Company.
(b) Said street portion is no longer necessary due to
the realignment of said McFadden Avenue.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of § 2381 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California, this Council does
find and determine that the above said street portion is not
useful as a nonmotorized transportation facility, as defined
in ~ 156 of said Code; and
WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that there are
no in-place public utility facilities in the above said street
portion; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 4 of Part 33 of
Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, and, in particular, § 8334 thereof, that portion of
"McFadden Avenue" in the City of Santa Ana specified in Exhibit
A, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is, under the facts
hereinabove recited, hereby vacated and, from the date this
resolution is recorded in the office of the Recorder of Orange
County, shall no longer constitute a street or any portion
thereof.

2. The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to cause a
certified copy hereof, attested by her under seal, to be recorded
forthwith in the office of the Recorder of Orange County.

The North 20.0 feet of the following:
That portion of the East half of the Northeast quarter of the
Southwest quarter of Section 15, Township 5 South, Range 10 West, in
the Rancho Las Bolsas, as shown on a map recorded in Book 51, page
12 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
lying Westerly of the channel of the Santa Ana River as conveyed to
the Newbert Protection District by deeds recorded November 18, 1910
in Book 194, page 168 and in Book 194, page 169 of Deeds of said
Orange County.
Excepting therefrom that portion lying Southwesterly of a line
concentric with and 42.00 feet Northeasterly of the centerline of
McFadden Avenue, as shown on a map of Tract No. 9535 recorded in
Book 401, pages 40 and 41 of said Miscellaneous Maps.

The North 20.0 feet of the following:
The East half of the West half of the Northeast quarter of the
Southwest quarter of Section 15, Township 5 South, Range 10 West, in
the Rancho Las Bolsas, as shown on a map recorded in Book 51, page
12 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, Californta~
Excepting therefrom that portion lying Southwesterly of a line
concentric with and 42.00 feet Northeasterly of the centerline of
McFadden Avenue, as shown on a map of Tract No. 9535 recorded in
Book 401, pages 40 and 41 of said Miscellaneous Maps.
