HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-037KESOLUTION NO. 88 - 37 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 87-95 TO DELETE, ADD AND CHANGE SEVERAL CLASS TITLES AND ADJUST SALARY LEVELS OF CERTAIN CLASSES CONTAINED IN THE CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN FOR UNREPRESENTED MANAGI~ I~IPLOYEES. WHERFAS, on December 21, 1987 the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 87-95, re-establishing the Classification and Compensation Plan for classes of employment designated as unrepresented executive and middle- management; and ~, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and WHEREAS, with the adoption of the annual budget for Fiscal Year 1988-89, the City Council authorized certain organizational and staffing changes which affect several class titles in the Classification and Compensation Plan for unrepresented management classes of employment contained in Resolution No. 87-95; and WHERFAS, the changing needs and priorities of City departments also dictate certain changes in said plan; WHERFAS, it is now desired to amend said Resolution to delete, add and change several class titles affected by said organizational and staffing changes. NOW, TH~0RE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~ CITY OF SANTA ANA: 1. That Section 3A of Resolution No. 87-95 pertaining to Executive Management classes of employment, is hereby amended as follows: a. Decreasing the salary level assigned to the class Executive Director of Human Resources (150 from M-51 to M-50, $4982 to $5925 (minimum to maximum hiring rates). b. Increasing the salary level assigned to the class of Library Director (15{) from M-28 to M-50. 2. That Section 3B of Resolution No. 87-95 pertaining to Middle-Management classes of employment is hereby amended as follows: RESOLUTION 88-37 Page 2 a. Deleting the following class titles: Budget Analyst II (~0 City Engineer Community Events Manager (~I) Contract Compliance Manager Deputy Chief of Police 044) Emergency Medical Services Coordinator Psychologist Redevelopment Officer Regional Transportation Center Manager b. Designating as '~erminal" the following class titles by adding the parenthetical identifier "(T)" following each title so that the class will be automatically deleted from the management pay plan upon being vacated by the last remaining current incumbent: Administrative Assistant II (~) (T) Librarian III 044) (T) c. Adding in proper alphabetical sequence, the new middle-management class of LIBRARY SERVICES MANAGER at salary rate range M-22, with minimum to maximum hiring rates of $4088 to $4860. d. Changing the following class titles as indicated: FROM TO Capital Projects/Water Resources Director Traffic Engineer (M~) Maintenance Manager (MM) Real Estate Manager Construction Services Manager (~4) Engineering Services Manager Public Works Maintenance Manager Redevelopment and Real Estate Manager 0~4) e. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after July 1, 1988.
