HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-060 275 REL :mb( 30 ) 6/15/89 RESOLUTION NO. 89-060 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO PROVIDE ANNUAL REQUALIFICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 1989-90. WHEREAS, Articles 2 and 3 of Chapter 9, Division 2, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California autho- rize a County to expend funds apportioned to it out of the Cali- fornia Highway Users' Tax fund for aid to any city for the im- provement, construction, or repair of streets within Such City; and WHEREAS, the procedure manual for the Arterial Highway Financing Program (AHFP) requires annual requalification of par- ticipating cities in the Program by affirming with the AHFP Advisory Committee that the City's Master Plan of Arterial High- ways is mutually satisfactory and in conformance with that of the County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City of Santa Ana's master plan of arterial high- ways is mutually satisfactory and in conformance with those of its adjacent governmental jurisdictions and with the County of Orange. 2. The City of Santa Ana has adopted a uniform setback ordinance to protect ultimate arterial highway right-of-way. 3. The City of Santa Ana has adopted provisions for the limitation of access to the arterial highway system in order to protect the integrity of the system. 4. The City Council, by its Resolution No. 86-57, dated June 16, 1986, designated Flower Street between Seventeenth Street and Route 22 as a "residential collector," which classification is consistent with the County of Orange's classification of said street as "commuter." The Executive Director of the Public Works RESOLUTION NO. 89-060 PAGE TWO Agency is authorized to prepare a new official map of the City's master plan of arterial highways disclosing the "residential collector" status of said street. 5. The City of Santa Ana will continue to work cooper- atively with the County of Orange to resolve any question concerning the appropriate planned ultimate width of Santa Ana Boulevard between Ross Street and Broadway as a one-way arterial.
