HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-095027 REL:mb(33) 8/9/89 Rev. 9/20/89 RESOLUTION NO. 89-~5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING VARI- ANCE NO. 89-9 TO ALLOW AN ELECTRONIC READER-BOARD SIGN AT 1430 VILLAGE WAY. ~-'~.~S~~uncil held a public hearing on September 18, 1%89 ~n)V~-~iaW6e-A~ication No. 89-9 to permit an electronic reader%-bo~a~d sign on property located at 1430 Village Way which application came before this Council as appeal number 89-4 follow- ing its denial by the Planning Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: 1. Based on the evidence submitted at the abovesaid hear- ing, this Council finds and determines as follows: a. Without the requested sign, the multiple tenants in the subject building would be at a disadvantage in advertising their businesses. Tenants having freeway exposure would have an advantage over the others. b. Granting the requested sign will discourage banners, balloons and other such advertising devices. c. Granting the requested sign will encourage invest- ment in, and promote the success of, the subject business center. d. Because of special circumstance applicable to the subject property, the strict application of the zoning ordinances would deprive the property of privileges not at variance with the intent and purpose of the zoning ordinances. e. The granting of this variance is necessary for the presentation and enjoyment of one or more substantial property rights. f. The granting of this variance will not be materi- ally detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to surround- ing property. g.
