RESOLUTION NO. 89-107
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING VARI-
ANCE NO. 89-16 TO ALLOW AN ILLUMINATED
WALL SIGN ON A BUILDING LOCATED AT 115
WEST FOURTH STREET
WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on October
16, 1989 on Variance Application No. 89-16 to permit an illuminated
wall sign on a building located at 115 West Fourth Street which
application came before this Council as appeal number 89-7 follow-
ing its denial by the Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Based on the evidence submitted at the abovesaid hear-
ing, this Council finds and determines as follows:
a. Because of special circumstance applicable to the
subject property, the strict application of the zoning ordinances
would deprive the property of privileges not at variance with the
intent and purpose of the zoning ordinances.
b. The granting of this variance is necessary for the
presentation and enjoyment of one or more substantial property
rights.
c. The granting of this variance will not be materi-
ally detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to surround-
ing property.
d. The granting of this variance will not adversely
affect the District Center land use designation for the area

2. Variance 89-16 is hereby approved subject to the con-
dition that the colors o~ the sign be compatibl~ with th~ colors
of the building (red, black, gray and mauve).
