A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING A
NEW SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR INITIAL
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW AND REVIEW AND
PREPARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, in order to process development projects and
other activities which may have a significant effect on the
environment, the City of Santa Ana must comply with the require-
ments of the California Environmental Quality Act "CEQA")
and the State CEQA Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, such compliance requires extensive work
time of qualified City personnel; and
WHEREAS, current fees for environmental review and
preparation of environmental documents are inadequate to pay
the cost of the required services by City personnel;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana as follows:
1. The following schedule of fees is hereby adopted
for initial environmental review and for the review and
preparation of environmental documents for any project pursuant
to CEQA:
Document Fee
Environmental Impact Report
$7,500 or 10% of Consultant
fee, whichever is greater.
Negative Declaration
If Consultant report
required.
$5,000 or 10% of Consultant
fee, whichever is greater.
If Consultant report not
required, but mitigation
measures are required.
$1,000
If neither Consultant
report nor mitigation
measures are required.
$50O
Notice of Exemption $150
(As used herein "Consultant" means a private person
or firm providing professional environmental analysis
services, retained for the project by the project
applicant)

2. The above fees are found and determined to be
necessary and appropriate to provide the funds required to
pay the cost of initial environmental review and the review
and preparation of environmental documents by City personnel.
3. The fees established by this resolution supersede
fees established in any previous resolution for initial
environmental review, environmental impact reports, negative
declarations, and notices of exemption.
