RESOLUTION NO. 91- 093
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE
CLOSURE OF ROSS STREET BETWEEN WALNUT
STREET AND CHESTNUT AVENUE TO VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 A.M.
AND 4:00 P.M. ON DAYS WHEN SANTA ANA
HIGH SCHOOL IS IN SESSION
WHEREAS, Santa Ana Unified School District has requested that
Ross Street between Walnut Street and Chestnut Avenue be closed to
vehicular traffic during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on
days when Santa Ana High School is in session to prevent cruising
activity around the school, thereby increasing the safety of the
students and faculty; and
WHEREAS, said portion of Ross Street is not necessary for
vehicular traffic during such hours;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The closure of Ross Street between Walnut Street and
Chestnut Avenue to vehicular traffic between the hours of 7:00 a.m.
and 4:00 p.m. on days when Santa Ana High School is in session is
hereby authorized.
2. The Executive Director of the Public Works Agency of the
City of Santa Ana is hereby authorized to impose reasonable
conditions on the closure of said portion of Ross Street to
vehicular traffic, including, but not limited to, arrangements with
Santa Ana Unified School District for the installation and removal
of appropriate barricades and agreements regarding protection from
liability. The said Executive Director is authorized to execute
such agreements on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, and to

terminate the closure of Ross Street to vehicular traffic in the
event of noncompliance with such conditions.
