RESOLUTION NO. 92-001
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA OPPOSING THE PROPOSED CHANNEL
SCRAMBLING BY COMCAST CABLEVISION
WHEREAS, as on November 4, 1991, Mr. David Barford, Genera]
Manager of Comcast Cablevision presented to the City Council a
proposed channel scrambling plan for Santa Ana which would require
all subscribers to use a cable box with their television; and
WHEREAS, on November 4, 1991, the city Council expressed
concerns to Mr. BarfO~d regarding such a channel scrambling plan
and its impact on the community; and
WHEREAS, on November 19, 1991,
Board voted unanimously to oppose Comcast Cablevision's
channel scrambling plan due to its restriction on many
products.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY
COUNCIL:
Opposes the proposed channel scrambling plan as presented by
Comcast Cablevision.
