RESOLUTION 92-002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AMENDING RESOLUTION 91-066 TO ADD THE CLASSIFICATION OF JAIL
ADMINISTRATOR AND TO AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO
REALLOCATE ONE EXISTING POLICE SERGEANT POSITION TO THE NEW
CLASS OF JAIL ADMINISTRATOR.
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the
City of Santa Ana requires the city Manager to prepare, install
and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to
civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, on July l, 1991 the City Council passed and adopted
Resolution No. 91-066 re-establishing the Compensation Plan for
classes of employment designated as unrepresented executive and
middle management; and
WHEREAS, on July 15, 1991 the city Council passed and adopted
Ordinance No. NS-2130 which establishes the City's Budget
authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1991-92, and
which sets forth the requirement that alterations in the
allocations of authorized positions be reviewed and approved by
City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to add the unrepresented middle
management classification of Jail Administrator to the City's
Basic Classification and Compensation Plan and to reallocate one
existing Police Sergeant position in the Fiscal Year 1991-92
Budget to the new class of Jail Administrator.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA:
1. That Section 3B of Resolution 91-066, as amended is
hereby further amended by:
a. Adding in proper alphabetical sequence, the
following new classification title at the monthly salary rate
range indicated:
CLASSIFICATION TITLE
Jail Administrator
SALARY RATE RANGE EFFECTIVE:
No. 1-16-92 7-1-92 7rl-93
M-22 $5055-7144 $5562-7859 $5728-8092
b. Designating the new title of Jail Administrator as
unrepresented middle management by adding the parenthetical
identifier "MM" following the class title.

2. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1991-92 be
amended by reallocating one Police Sergeant position at Salary
Rate Range No. 610 to Jail Administrator at Salary Rate Range No.
M-22.
3. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other
provisions of Resolution No. 91-066. and the Annual Budget for
Fiscal Year 1991-92 shall remain in full force and effect.
4. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after
January 16, 1992.
