The Mayor stated the matters to be considered an~ acted upon at this Special Meet-
lng are the selection of the site for the location of a Municipal Stadium, and the
determination of whether or not to instruct the Architect to proceed with plans
specifications necessary to call for bids for the construction of such a Stadium,
the conditions and limitations to be imposed upon said plans and specifications, or
whether or not to direct said Architect to make further preliminary studies and
estimates.
It was moved by CouncJlm-~ Heinly that the Architect be instructed to proceed with
the prelimf~ary plans preparatory to going forward with the project at the estimate
cost. Motion lost for lack of a second.
It was moved by CouncJlm-u Heinly and seconded by Schlueter that the meeting be ad-

Councilma~ Brewer questioned the Architect on various phases of the Soil Analysis.
The Architect replied that the Soil Analysis was not done by him, his study covere~

sites in regard to foundation and did not refer to the difference in soil conditioz
A c~nication was presonted by Councilman Brewer and read by the Clerk, from Mac-
Bird and Associates reference the soil condition on the adjoining property and pre-
senting conclusions in regard to locating the proposed Municipal Stadium at the
Segerstrom Avenue and Raitt Street site. On motion of Counc~lm~ Brewer, seconded
by Schlueter and carried, the c~,~,~uication was received and filed.

APPROWD
rec~ended the operation of the present bowl for another year
at a minimum cost of $3,000.00 to $8~000.00 for rehabilitation, removing the south-
erly stands and a portion of the east stands and replac~g with temporary stands
that could later be used in present or proposed City Parks. The Manager further
rec~...ended the c~utlnuance of the study and the possibility of going forward with
a m~nimum number of seats and future expansion, at the Segerstrem Avenue and Raitt
Street site.
It was moved by Councilman Heinly, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion lost for
lack of a second.
Mrs. Loule Boer, 910 Norbh Lowell Street, presented a report cc~paring cost esti-
mates for the proposed Stadium sites, and orally called attention to the fact that
the Preliminary Study does not include the cost for road easements and fills which
would be required for the Segerstrom Avenue and Raitt Street site.
