RESOLUTION NO. 92-042
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
RENAMING THE NORTH BRISTOL RESERVOIR AND PUMPING STATION TO THE
JOHN GARTHE RESERVOIR AND PUMPING STATION
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is in the process of
reconstructing the North Bristol Reservoir located at Bristol
Street and Santiago Creek; and
WHEREAS, the reconstructed reservoir will be the newest and
largest reservoir in the City's municipal water system; and
WHEREAS, John Garthe has served the city well and faithfully
for almost fifty years in various capacities including Fire Chief,
Councilman, Mayor, and as Director of the Orange County Water
District, and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California; and
WHEREAS, John Garthe has greatly benefitted and enhanced the
City of Santa Ana through his exemplary performance in the
aforementioned capacities; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to honor Mr. Garthe for his
numerous contributions to this city;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA'S MUNICIPAL WATER RESERVOIR AND
PUMPING STATION LOCATED AT NORTH BRISTOL STREET AND
SANTIAGO CREEK SHALL BE HENCEFORTH NAMED THE JOHN GARTHE
RESERVOIR AND PUMPING STATION.
