RESOLUTION NO. 93- 010
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DESIGNATING
THE SANTA ANA COUNCIL OF ARTS AND
CULTURE AS THE CITY'S OFFICIAL
AMBASSADOR OF ARTS AND CULTURE
WHEREAS, the city Council believes that art nourishes the
human spirit and culture affirms our human existence; and
WHEREAS, the city Council intends to encourage the development
of arts and culture as a key component of city life; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hopes to foster an environment that
recognizes the value and supports the efforts of the creative
individual; and
WHEREAS, the city Council wishes to designate a body to act as
a unified voice on behalf of the arts and culture in Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Council of Arts and Culture, created in
January 1989 by the Santa Ana-based arts and cultural community,
represents all dimensions of arts and culture from ballet to off-
Broadway theater in the City;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
The Santa Ana Council of Arts and Culture is hereby designated
the City's official ambassador of arts and culture and is further
encouraged to assist the community develop, promote, and preserve
Santa Ana's artistic and cultural legacy.
