RESOLUTION NO. 93-061
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE AWARD
ON AN URGENCY BASIS OF A CONTRACT TO
CHLOR-SERV, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF
$64,500 TO PROVIDE CHLORINATION FACILI-
TIES AT FOUR WELL SITES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is under notice from the
Department of Health of the State of California that water derived
from City wells must be chlorinated in order meet recent State
regulations regarding disinfection of drinking water; and
WHEREAS, the City has recently been notified by the Metropoli-
tan Water District of Southern California and the Orange County
Water District that the City will not be able to purchase water
from said districts at affordable rates after July 1, 1993; and
WHEREAS, Chlor-Serv, Inc. is able and willing to provide
complete packaged chlorination facilities for four water well sites
prior to July 1, 1993, for a purchase price of $64,500;
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 421, this Councii finds
that the provision of drinking water meeting State standards by
July 1, 1993, is urgently necessary for the preservation of the
public health;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL that the award
of a contract in the amount of $64,500 to Chlor-Serv, Inc. for four
packaged chlorination facilities for City water wells, on an
urgency basis, without advertising for bids, is hereby authorized.
ADOPTED this 21st day of June , 1993.
