RESOLUTION NO. 93-087
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA WAIVING CHAPTER 8 FEES
FOR WORK DONE IN CONNECTION WITH THE
UNDERGROUNDING OF UTILITIES IN UNDER-
GROUND UTILITY DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 37 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, the City
of Santa Ana from time to time establishes underground utility districts and
thereby requires the owners or occupants of property in such districts to convert
existing utility service connections on their properties to accoramodate new
underground utility service lines; and
WHEREAS, in Chapter 8 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code the City of Santa Ana
incorporates into its municipal law the Uniform Building Code and other uniform
codes which require permits and inspections for the work required to provide such
underground utility service connections, and which require the payment of fees
for such permits and inspections in amounts established by resolution of the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that in order to facilitate the
undergrounding of utility lines and to do so in a manner which is fair to those
property owners who are required to reconstruct their utility service connec-
tions, it is appropriate to waive fees for Chapter 8 permits and inspections
required in connection with such work;
NOWv THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
that no fee shall be charged by the City for any permit or inspection required
by Chapter 8 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code and the codes incorporated therein,
for work performed in connection with the conversion of existing utility
connections to underground utility service connections by any owner and or
occupant of property in an underground utility district.
