RESOLUTION 94-017
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO
AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE
CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO
AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO REALLOCATE CERTAIN
POSITIONS.
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the
City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and
maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil
service rules and regulations and the approval of the city Council;
and
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and
adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the
Basic Compensation Plan for all officers and employees of the City
of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, on May 17, 1993, the City Council passed and adopted
Ordinance No. NS-2198, which establishes the City's Budget
authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1993-94, and which
sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocations of
authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, routine maintenance of the Basic Classification and
Compensation Plan and/or the findings of various classification and
compensation studies reveal the need to effect certain changes to
the Plan and to reallocate certain positions; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110 and
the Fiscal Year 1993-94 Budget in order to effect these changes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA:

1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110,
further amended by:

Office Supervisor and Zoo Curator.
b. Adding in proper alphabetical sequence, the following new
classification titles at the monthly salary rate ranges indicated:

e. Providing an equity salary adjustment to the
classification of Facilities Supervisor from Salary Rate Range No.
547 ($3010-3658) to Salary Rate Range No. 578 ($3501-4257)
effective May 1, 1994, and Salary Rate Range No. 584 ($3604-4382)
effective July 1, 1994.
2. That Section 3.1 ("Special Compensation Provisions") of
Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended to
delete subsection "(r)" which authorizes special pay for a Fire
Services Dispatcher who is assigned supervisory responsibilities.
3. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1993-94,
further amended by reallocating one position of

4. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other
provisions of Resolution No. 82-110 and the Annual Budget for
Fiscal Year 1993-94 shall remain in full force and effect.

5. That this Resolution, unless otherwise indicated, shall be
operative from and after May 1, 1994.
