RESOLUTION NO. 94-045
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AMENDING THE LAND USE AND CIRCULATION
ELEMENTS OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA TO REDESIGNATE CERTAIN PROPERTY ON BAKER
STREET, NORTH OF CIVIC CENTER DRIVE FROM THE LOW
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (LR) CATEGORY TO THE PROFES-
SIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES (PAO) CATEGORY
AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE CLOSURE OF BAKER STREET
NORTH OF CIVIC CENTER DRIVE (GPA 94-3)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana,
after duly noticed public hearing, approved an amendment to the
General Plan of the City of Santa Ana as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, this Council has reviewed and considered the initial
environmental study and negative declaration prepared for such
proposed General Plan amendment; and
WHEREAS, this Council, after duly noticed public hearing,
concurs in the Planning Commission's approval of said General Plan
amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The adoption of the said General Plan amendment will not
have a significant effect on the environment, and the negative
declaration prepared for said amendment is hereby approved.
2. The "Land Use Plan" of the Land Use Element of the General
Plan of the City of Santa Ana is hereby amended to redesignate that
area of the city shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorpo-
rated herein, as the "Ri" portion of the "Proposed Development
Site" from the "Low Density Residential" (LR) category to the
"Professional and Administrative Offices" (PAO) category.
3. The Circulation Element of the General Plan of the city
of Santa Ana is amended to provide for the closure to vehicular
traffic of Baker Street immediately to the north of its intersec-
tion with civic Center Drive, in order to reduce through-traffic in
the residential neighborhood abutting Baker Street, in accordance
with the objectives of the said Circulation Element.
