RESOLUTION 94-072
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO
AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CFJuNGES TO THE
CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO
AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO REALLOCATE CERTAIN
POSITIONS.
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the
City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and
maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil
service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and
adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the
Basic Compensation Plan for all officers and employees of the City
of Santa Aha; and
WHEREAS, on July 5, 1994, the City Council passed and adopted
Ordinance No. NS-2225, which establishes the City's budget,
authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1994-95, and which
sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocations of
authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council;
and
W~EREAS, routine maintenance of the Basic Classification and
Compensation Plan and/or the findings of various classification and
compensation studies reveal the need to effect certain changes to
the Plan and to reallocate certain positions; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110 and
the Fiscal Year 1994-95 Budget in order to effect these changes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA:
1o That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby
further amended by:
a. Adding in proper alphabetical sequence, the new
classification title of Community Development Technician at Salary
Rate Range No. 543, $2950-$3586 per month.

b. Changing classification titles as follows:

d. Providing an equity salary adjustment to the classification
of Library Outreach Supervisor from Salary Rate Range No. 603
($3954-$4810) to Salary Rate Range No. 620 ($4296-$5226).
2. That Section 3.1 ("Special Compensation Provisions") of
Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended by:

b. Adding the following assignment pay designation to the list
of special pay differentials:
"(kk) One incumbent in the class of Customer Service
Representative who, at the discretion of the appointing
authority, is regularly and continuously assigned to serve
in a "lead supervisory" capacity, will be paid an
additional ten salary rate ranges (five percent) above the
current base monthly salary step to which he or she would
otherwise be entitled."

3. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1994-95, as amended, be
further amended by reallocat~ng certain authorized positions as
shown. "'

4. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other provisions of
Resolution No. 82-110 and the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1994-95 shall
remain in full force and effect.
5. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after December 1,
1994.
