A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO AMEND
RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE CITY'S BASIC
CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO AMEND THE CURRENT
ANNUAL BUDGET TO REFLECT THESE CHANGES.
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the
City of Santa Ana requires the City to prepare, install and
maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil
service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and
adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the
Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for Officers and
Employees of the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, on June 19, 1995, the City Council passed and adopted
Ordinance No. NS-2253 which establishes the City's budget
authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1995-96, and which
sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocations of
authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, periodic review of the Basic Classification and
Compensation Plan and/or the findings of various classification and
compensation studies reveal the need to effect certain changes to
the Plan and to reallocate certain positions; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110 and
the Fiscal Year 1995-96 Budget to effect these changes; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA:
1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby
further amended by:
a. adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the new
classification titles of Public Works Projects Specialist at
Salary Rate Range No. 584 ($3604-$4601 per month), and Zoo
Keeper Aide at Salary Rate Range No. 414 ($1573-$2007 per
month).
b. providing an equity salary adjustment

2. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1995-96, as amended, is
hereby further amended by reallocating one position in Public Works
(Neighborhood Improvement Specialist II) to the classification
Public Works Projects Specialist.
3. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other
provisions of Resolution No. 82-110 and the Annual Budget for
Fiscal Year 1995-96 shall remain in full force and effect.
5. That this Resolution shall
