RESOLUTION NO. 96- 083
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA ADOPTING ARCHITECTURAL
GUIDELINES FOR THE HISTORIC FRENCH PARK
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, this Council, by its Ordinance No. NS-1723, adopted
April 2, 1984, rezoned property in the area known as the Historic
French Park District, more specifically described in said ordi-
nance, to the SD (Specific Development) District and adopted
Specific Development Plan No. 19 for such property; and
WHEREAS, this Council, by proposed Ordinance No. NS-2301,
proposes to amend Specific Development Plan No. 19; and
WHEREAS, Specific Development Plan No. 19, as thus amended,
will provide for the architectural review of the construction,
restoration and rehabilitation of buildings in the Historic French
Park District according to architectural design guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Historic French Park Association has published
architectural design guidelines for the Historic French Park
District in a booklet entitled "Historic French Park: Its Architec-
tural Legacy and Design Guidelines," dated January 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Council now desires the Historic French Park
Association's architectural design guidelines as set forth in said
booklet to be the official architectural design guidelines for the
Historic French Park District for purposes of the implementation of
Specific Development Plan No. 19 as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The architectural design guidelines set forth in that
certain booklet published by the Historic French Park Association
entitled "Historic French Park: Its Architectural Legacy and Design
Guidelines," dated January 1995, are hereby approved and adopted as
the architectural design guidelines to be applied to buildings and
structures in the Historic French Park District pursuant to
Specific Development Plan No. 19 as amended by Ordinance NS-2301.
2. The Clerk of the Council is directed to maintain a copy of
said booklet on file in her office as a public record.
3. This resolution shall become effective as such time as
Ordinance No. NS-2301 becomes effective.
