RESOLUTIONNO. 98- 2~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA OPPOSING PROPOSITION 226.

WHEREAS, Proposition 226 would require union members' employers, including the City
of Santa Ana, to establish new payroll deduction and records maintenance procedures; and,

cost the State up to $2 Million annually, and would impact local government proportionally; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the League of California Cities has gone on record
opposing Proposition 226 in light of the increase administrative burdens of Proposition 226; and,
WHEREAS, Proposition 226 would adversely affects the interests of the taxpayers of the

affecting levels of service.
