A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~ CITY OF SANTA ANA TO AMEND
THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO ADD SEVEN GRANT FUNDED POSITIONS
WHEREAS, on May 18, 1998 the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No.
N~-23A~, which establishes the C~ty~s budget authorizing po~fion alloeafion~ for Fiscal Vear
1998-99, and which sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized
positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, funds have been received through a Federal Office of Community Oriented
Policing Services (COPS) Community Oriented Policing Demonstration Center Grant for the
purpose of hiring one Police Sergeant and six Police Officers; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend the Fiscal Year 1998-99 budget to effect these
changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA:
1. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1998-99, as amended, be further amended
by allocating one additional Police Sergeant position and six additional Police Officer positions.
2. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other provisions of the Annual
Budget for Fiscal Year 1998-99 shall remain in full force and effect.
3. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after October 1, 1998·
ADOPTED this 5th day of October ,1998.
